Brow After Care

  • Avoid exposing the treated area to direct water pressure from the shower for at least 5 days. Do not soak the area in baths, swimming pools, or hot tubs, and avoid swimming in fresh, salt, or chlorinated water for at least 10 days.

  • Apply a small amount of ointment to the treated area twice daily for three days, particularly after morning cleansing (after the 5 days) and before bedtime.

  • Avoid topical makeup for 10 days and you may apply SPF after 15 days.

  • Avoid sleeping on the treated area. Sleep on your back and use a clean pillowcase.

  • Do not use cleansing creams or chemicals on the treated area.

  • Refrain from scrubbing or picking at the epithelial crust, as this may affect color retention. Allow the crust to flake off naturally.

  • Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure for 10 days post-procedure, and wear a hat for outdoor activities.

  • Keep the treated area away from debris, smoke, and steam, and avoid heavy, sweaty exercise for 3 to 4 days.

  • Do not touch the treated area with your hands until healing is complete

Day 1-2: Bolder color

Day 3: Starting to itch, brows look a bit thicker in texture

Day 4: Flaky skin- peels from the outside edges first

Day 5 color finishes flaking of softer, grayer effect for a few days until the color clarifies

Healing of the brows will be slightly different from person to person. Often it is longer than the above mentioned timeline. At first the eyebrows will appear darker than you would want it. They will look bold and thick. It will start peeling the first week. The flakes will shed off at random and it will appear that you have lost the color in the areas where it has flaked off first. The eyebrows then go through a “frosting stage” in which it will appear again as though you have lost all the color while the new skin cells are growing. At about the end of the second and beginning of the third week the color will reappear. If you have followed good aftercare you should have lost no more than 20% of the color. This is when you come in between 4-8 weeks to do your touchup so we may fill in the 20% color lost. Failure to follow post-treatment instructions may cause loss of pigment discoloration or infection
